Summit Police
Athletic League
Board of Trustees Mission Statement
The Summit Police Athletic
League (P.A.L.) is a non-profit charitable organization which is run
by a volunteer board comprised of Summit residents. The P.A.L. runs
numerous programs for the benefit of the youth of Summit. Our goal
is to promote activities that foster lifelong health, community
spirit and a feeling of goodwill and awareness between the children
and Police Officers of Summit.
We contribute and provide financial assistance for Summit children
who want to participate in the various Summit athletic programs
funded by or through the Summit Board of Recreation and cannot
afford it. We feel all youth members should have an opportunity to
participate athletically regardless of their current economic
standing.
We also grant a limited number of academic scholarships for those
students graduating from Summit High School and continuing on to
college who have a demonstrated financial need and satisfy academic
and achievement requirements set forth by the Summit P.A.L.
All of our activities are supported by fundraising efforts through
solicited fundraising efforts. These efforts include our annual golf
outing and annual newsletter appeal.
The mission of the Summit P.A.L. has been (and will continue to be)
the leading organization and positive conduit between the children
of Summit and the police department of our town.
